Quazigund Banihal Expressway
The Quazigund Banihal Expressway is a 16.3 km, four-lane road of which 8. 5 km is a twin tube tunnel. The road, connecting Quazigund to Banihal towns of Kashmir is a part of NH-44 (highway connecting Jammu and Srinagar) and is about 75 km from Srinagar city.(. The project was awarded by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in 2010 as an Annuity project in 2010. The project has been operational since July 2021 and has a residual concession period of 10 years.
Apart from reducing the travel time for traveling between Jammu and Kashmir, the road ensures an all-weather, hassle free and safe connectivity to north Kashmir through Pir Panjal Pass.
